Outburst 12” x 12” Oil on Canvas by cogwurx
I wanted to go back to a color palette that I haven’t used in a very long time. I missed working with these earth tones and crimson. This is more or less a study for a much larger painting…well, it was. I’m not sure I’m going to go larger on this. I need the image to percolate a bit before I decide to remake this into a larger painting.

Flow 14” x 18” Oil on Canvas board by cogwurx
Trying new colors here. I’ve been stuck in a world of green and though I’d best explore some new colors…like blue-green. I intended this to be a horizontal piece, but as the painting conversation evolved it wanted to be portrait so I didn’t argue with it.

Spring16”x20” Mixed Media on Board(Oil paint, Acrylic, card stock paper)
by cogwurx
This piece started out life rather differently in that it was going to involve robots. But as I got half way through painting it, the composition wasn’t working and frankly I hated it so off into art storage purgatory it went for 6 months. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and new life was brought to this painting so the colors and the process of completing this painting really invoked the them of “Spring”.

Ascension28”x20” Mixed Media on Canvas (Oil, Acrylic, hemp string, beads, peacock feathers)by cogwurx
This piece went through about a dozen stages from being a reclaimed canvas to it’s current form. I had a lot of trouble with this one and it didn’t turn out how I imagined. However, the journey was fun and I dig the textures that I got out of it.
